Raising Funds for our Children’s Future
Welcome to your page – as a parent you are automatically part of our PTA (Friends of School). This page is dedicated to helping you find out more about what we do, how you can help and what events are coming up – these events can be found on the calendar.
If you want to stay up to date with activity please like our MoorlandsFederationPTA Facebook page as well as our @PTAMoorlands twitter feed. This is the perfect place for the latest news, events and to contact us.
The Moorlands Federation PTA is a registered charity – charity number 1146086. Being a charity has its benefits but also means we need to follow certain procedures. For further information about our charity status follow the link here. At the beginning of each new school year we have our AGM to review the accounts and to elect a new committee.

Meetings tend to happen bi-weekly on a Friday at 2pm in the community room in the Chantry school (opposite the main reception) and everyone is welcome (even siblings!). We discuss planning for forthcoming events and approve any spend. We also have some ‘making’ evenings which usually involves wine and we do also try and arrange social evenings too – just for fun!
To help with communication each year group has a class rep (see enclosed doc who these are) so if you can’t make meetings, but can help at events, have an idea for an event or what to fund raise for please contact your class rep and they’ll pass your message on.
We always need help at events and rely on our school community to help make these happen – from making cakes, blagging stuff for free, manning a stand, setting and clearing up, making things, grant applications – so any help is greatly appreciated – the more help we have the more money we can raise to help enhance your children’s learning experience. It’s also a great way of getting to know the school and make new friends too!
More detail can be found about event planning on the enclosed document.
