Pupil Voice
We see our community as a Moorlands Family of which children are at the centre.
We offer Moorlands children lots of opportunities to take part in school life and make a difference to the school community.
School Council
We have a school council who are elected by their peers and who represent the views of their class and the whole school.
They hold regular meetings with updates being shared with their class. Pupil voice is then fed into the senior leadership team to help shape the future of our school.
Eco Warriors
We also have a Green Team of Moorlands ‘Eco Warriors’ made up of representatives from each class. Their aim is to tackle a range of issues, making our schools an even better and more sustainable environment and helping us work towards our Bronze Eco Schools Award. We have recycling centres situated at different points around the school and pupils are encouraged to recycle their paper, plastic and food waste.
We love taking part in events such as ‘Bike to School Week’, ‘Road Safety Week’ and ‘Recycling Week’.
We also have lots of stickers around our local community to promote our ‘5 Minute Bubble’, where we’ve asked families to park 5 minutes away and walk the rest of the journey.
If you’d like to get more involved with our Eco Warrior team, please reach out to Miss Kennard or the school office: office@moorlands-school.com
Play Leaders
Our team of Year 5 and 6 Play Leaders work hard to help the other children enjoy a variety of active play opportunities at lunchtimes. You can easily spot them wearing their high-vis vests! The Play Leader have benefitted from training in leading games from sports specialists, thanks to the School Sports Partnership.
